Practice

Bush Projects is a multi-disciplinary Landscape Architecture studio. Our collective expertise shapes the development of adaptive and engaging spaces, working towards the realisation of a landscape’s social, experiential, and ecological value.

Bush Projects emerged from a commitment to the role of landscape in forming regenerative, shared places that promote connection to the natural world, to culture, and to others.

We operate at a range of scales applying in-depth analysis, collaboration, and research-through-design to optimise the ecological performance of landscape and promote people’s engagement with it.

Approach

Bush Projects combines the skills and perspectives of landscape architects, artists, and system developers, working collaboratively to understand all aspects of a project brief within a design process founded by landscape analysis and research and refined through sustained iterative design exploration, leading to outcomes that maximise function, use and experience, in response to local conditions, environment and community.

The design studio fosters ongoing development and application of advanced computational technology as an embedded work process and has developed software integrations that support analysis and design, including site analysis, design development and design documentation - generating adaptive and enduring outcomes. The studio’s customised tools enable responsive and expedited design investigation, including options analysis, iteration, and comprehensive visual communication, integrating service value within a range of projects and circumstances.

Expertise

Collaboration

We believe in true collaboration, drawing upon the insights and expertise of consultants, clients and stakeholders.  Clear communication with all collaborators allows us to successfully deliver on complex briefs that merge conceptual approaches with  technical expertise.

Biodiversity

Bush Projects is committed to regenerative design that seeks to optimise biodiversity and incorporate considerations of a place’s local living species. Detailed landscape analysis addresses the specific context of each site, shapes environments that support a diversity of life forms, revealing the invaluable role landscape plays within the built environment.

Sustainability

Our approach emphasises the improvement of both the ecological and social significance of place, giving priority to regenerative practices and community requirements. We consider education and continuously improving best practices to be crucial for a sustainable future.
